Global Entrepreneurship Week – Schedule
During one week each November, Global Entrepreneurship Week (“GEW”) inspires people everywhere through local, national and global activities designed to help them explore their potential as self-starters and innovators. These activities connect participants to potential collaborators, mentors and even investors—introducing them to new possibilities and exciting opportunities. Oklahoma State University is taking part in GEW with a full slate of activities across campus.

Monday, November 14
- Riata Business Plan Competition launch
- Cowboy Bootcamp for Entrepreneurs including consulting support for delegates
- Riata Distinguished Scholar Lecture: “Long-term orientation in entrepreneurial and family firms”, followed by Recognition of Dr. Tom Lumpkin as Riata Distinguished Entrepreneurship Scholar. BUS 124, from 2:00pm to 3:30pm
- Announcement of the 2011-12 Riata Faculty Fellows
- Screening of Pirates of Silicon Valley – a film about the founding of Apple Computers and Microsoft, Architecture 170, 6:00pm Monday. This screening is brought to you by the OSU Entrepreneurship Club.
Tuesday, November 15
- Launch of OSU’s “Cowboy 100”
- Creativity, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Learning Community: “The Creative You” with Dr. Westbrook at Booker Hall from 4:30pm to 7:00pm
- Announcement of the 2011-12 class for Disabled Veterans Entrepreneurship Program
Wednesday, November 16
- Dilemmas and Debates in Entrepreneurship: “Dilemma of Starting a Venture Right out of School vs. Learning on Someone Else’s Dime” (open to the public) – featuring Derrick Wallace (Juvo Group) , Shoaib Shaikh (Xplosafe), Max Whitemyer (Styro Insulations) & Johnson Bailey (Singular Candle). Classroom Building 313 at 6:45pm
- Participating in 2011 Global Entrepreneurship Week Resource Summit, an official event of the 2011 Tulsa Global Entrepreneurship Week (Tulsa GEW).
Thursday, November 17
- E Club Presents: Entrepreneurial Leadership Workshop
- Masters in Entrepreneurship Students, MSE New Venture Lab: “Understanding Intellectual Property”
Friday, November 18
- Riata Entrepreneurial Interns: Lunch Workshop on “Solutions, Evaluation, and Refinement for Entrepreneurial Business”
- “East Central High- Entrepreneurship Day at OSU”- School of Entrepreneurship hosts 300 inner city high school students from partner Entrepreneurship Charter School in Tulsa, OK
